Deputies searching for vehicle burglar
BATON ROUGE - Detectives in East Baton Rouge released photos of a man they said broke into a car and stole a credit card, then used it to go on a spending spree.
Sheriff's deputies said someone burglarized a vehicle parked on the 1700 block of Plantation Oaks around 2 a.m. on Dec. 12, 2012. They said the person stole several items, including a credit card.
Detectives said that credit card was used the same day to buy more than $100 of merchandise from a Walmart at 10606 North Mall. They said the man who paid for the items was wearing all black, and described as a white male with a medium build, buzz cut hairstyle, and in his late twenties or early thirties. Detectives said he drove away in a gold four-door sedan.
Anyone with information about the burglary or identity of the person using the credit card should call the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office at (225) 389-5000. People with tips will remain anonymous, and could be eligible for a cash reward if the information leads to an arrest.
