Two escaped Tangipahoa inmates captured

AMITE - Two inmates that escaped the Tangipahoa Parish Jail Sunday afternoon have been captured after a 12-hour manhunt, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, Christopher Woolridge, 23, and Daeshawn Woolridge, 20, were apprehended in a wooded area late Sunday night. The older brother resisted police after a short foot chase, but both were soon taken into custody.

According to Sheriff Daniel Edwards, the two escaped at 3:15 p.m. Sunday and were captured and taken into custody on Monday around 10 a.m.

Surveillance footage confirmed a jail breach in which the Woolridge brothers were seen exiting the grounds, leaving their jail uniforms behind.

Homeland Security, Louisiana State Police, Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office, Amite PD, Hammond PD, and St. Helena Parish Sheriff's Office all took part in the effort to locate the inmates. 

Daeshawn Woolridge, a Department of Corrections inmate was incarcerated on a Felony conspiracy charge, two Attempted second degree murder charges, Aggravated assault by a drive-by shooting and a Parole violation.   His brother Christopher, a parish inmate, was being held on two FTA warrants, Aggravated flight, two counts of Aggravated battery, two counts of Resisting arrest and an Attempted second degree murder charge.
