GONZALES - Sheriff's deputies in Ascension Parish asked for the public's help finding a hit-and-run driver who struck a cyclist today.

Lt. Col. Bobby Webre said the cyclist was going east on La. 42 Thursday when he was hit by a pickup. He had minor injuries, and refused medical attention.

Webre said investigators found a piece of the passenger's side mirror at the scene. They later identified as being from a 2011 white Ford F-150 Lariat.

Anyone with information about this hit-and-run should call the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office at 225-621-INFO (4636), or by texting 847411 to their anonymous tip line.
