Deputies search neighborhood for shooter Friday night
BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies made a mad dash around an apartment complex in a usually quiet area Friday night, in an attempt to track down a shooting suspect.
A sheriff's office spokesperson said deputies responded to shots being fired at the Hidden Oaks apartments, off Siegen Lane near Industriplex Boulevard. The shots were apparently the result of a fight, deputies said.
No one was hit but neighbors said they were rattled and believe the shooting is part of an even larger crime problem.
"These are the same guys that come back here and steal cars and do all kind of crime," James Brooks said in an interview for WBRZ News 2 at 10:00 Friday. Brooks said he thinks the shooter or shooters were after his son.
