MANCHAC- Deputies in Tangiphaoa Parished rescued a woman who became trapped in a boat she didn't know how to use.

Officials say the woman called 911 and reported that she was trapped in a boat. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found her trying to paddle across the canal she was in.

The woman told deputies she was at a friend's house on the river and was ready to leave, and got into the boat not knowing how to maneuver it.

Deputies were able to reach the woman and get her to shore in good condition.
