PRAIRIEVILLE - Sheriff’s deputies in Ascension Parish are actively looking to identify a man behind the burglary of a pair of carwashes in Prairieville.

The burglaries happened at the Platinum Express and Clean Team Auto Spa carwashes located on Hwy 44. Investigators say the crimes happened on Sunday, Nov. 1 between the hours of 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.

Lt. Col. Bobby Webre of APSO says the suspect broke into the automated payment kiosk and took about $3,000 between both businesses. Deputies said he used some kind of crowbar to break into the payment machines, causing about $10,000 in damage to both kiosks.

Deputies said the suspect was captured on surveillance video wearing a red hood jacket and light-colored pants.

Anyone with information on the burglaries is urged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at (225) 621-4636 or by texting 847411 to their anonymous tip line from any cellular device.
