WALKER- Sheriff's deputies arrested a person they describe as the primary person of interest in a homicide investigation Friday night.

Joshua M. Mitchell was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. Deputies in Livingston Parish believe he is connected to the disappearance and murder of Brandon Steele Parnell.

Parnell went missing on February 25th.

Mitchell is being treated for injuries he sustained from a K9 officer while being apprehended. Deputies said he was in the hospital, but in Livingston Parish custody.
