Deputies: Man murders wife and son in Gonzales
GONZALES -The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office say Ronald Green Sr. murdered his wife and son. They believe he jumped off of the Veterans Memorial Bridge in St. John Parish into the Mississippi River.
Two people were found dead in a home on Lakeway Cove Ave. off of LA-44 early Thursday morning. A spokesperson confirmed that 40-year-old Dewona Green and her 12-year-old son Ronald Green Jr. were shot. His wife had filed a restraining order against him just last week.
After the shooting, EBRSO received a call from a woman who said Green called her and said he killed his wife and son and was going to jump off the Mississippi River Bridge. Green's car was found abandoned and still running on top of the Veterans Memorial Bridge in St. John Parish.
Chief Deputy Tony Bacala says that even though it appears he jumped from the bridge, the investigation is still being conducted as if he's still alive.
