GONZALES - Three people face drug charges in Ascension Parish following a two-week investigation by the sheriff's office.

The Narcotics Division began looking into 37-year-old Robert Stafford last month for selling heroin in the parish.

On Monday, detectives say they spotted Stafford allegedly selling drugs to 29-year-old Brittany Medine in a parking lot.

They arrested Stafford and Medine and found that the pair had heroin, cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in their possession. Deputies also seized money from Stafford's drug transactions.

Another man, Wiley Mahurin Jr., was also arrested for possessing heroin he allegedly purchased from Stafford.

All three were booked into the parish jail and face a list of drug charges.
