PRAIRIEVILLE - Sheriff's deputies said a woman went on a spending spree after stealing a pair of wallets in Ascension Parish recently.

Chief Deputy Tony Bacala said the woman seen in surveillance photos released today took one wallet on Aug. 28 at the Winn-Dixie in Prairieville, and a second from a woman shopping at the Goodwell on Airline Highway in Gonzales on Sept. 28.

Bacala said credit cards taken on Aug. 28 were used to buy $3,500 in gift cards and make other purchases around the Greater New Orleans area and Ascension Parish. He said someone tried to use a card taken Sept. 28 at a pharmacy on Airline in Gonzales, but wasn't successful.

Bacala said the woman who took the wallets appeared to be in her 20's or 30's.

Anyone with information about the woman's location or identity should call the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office at 225-621-INFO (4636) or text 847411 to their anonymous tip line.
