SWORDS- Sheriff's deputies in St. Landry Parish are investigating a possible grave site near the home of a man arrested in connection with the disappearance of Mickey Shunick.

The search near Brandon Lavergne's home is taking place near St. Ann's Catholic Church in Swords. Cadaver dogs are on the scene assisting in the investigation.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says that his office received a tip of a possible grave on St. Ann's property. He said that the site appears to be a grave, but investigators are not certain. Guidroz adds his office conducts searches on all reports they receive of possible graves.

Deputies have been conducting a search on the property in Lawtell where Lavergne had been living.

Lavergne is facing first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping charges in the disappearance of Shunick.
