Deputies in Assumption arrest accused four wheeler thief
PAINCOURTVILLE - Sheriff Mike Waguespack of the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested a man accused of stealing a four wheeler early last Monday morning.
A homeowner in Paincourtville reported waking up around 3 a.m. on Apr. 13 to the sound of someone trying to start his ATV in the driveway. When he looked out of the window, he was able to get a clear view of a man detectives later identified as 22-year-old Rodney Rhodes II in the act trying to steal his four wheeler, according to the APSO.
Detectives secured a warrant for Rhodes arrest to find that the man was currently out on bond, having been arrested in October 2014 for armed robbery, simple escape and possession of stolen things. He had been out on reduced bond since January when he was taken into custody by deputies last Friday on the new felony theft charge
Rhodes was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and remains in custody as of this writing.
