BATON ROUGE – Deputies say an argument between neighbors ended in shots fired, prompting officials to secure the area around Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge Saturday afternoon.

According to East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office spokesperson Casey Hicks, the incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on Pecue Lane. Investigators say 54-year-old Rayfield Grant fired multiple shots into the air then fled into a wooded area near Woman's hospital.

Hicks said Grant was taken into custody around 4 p.m. According to arrest documents, deputies had to use a Taser on Grant to arrest him.

Grant will be charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, illegal use of a weapon and resisting an officer.

The incident prompted heavy law enforcement presence around Woman's Hospital, Airline Highway and Pecue Lane. The hospital and nearby stores went into a precautionary lockdown.

Witnesses that live in a small housing area nearby told WBRZ that the suspect "went crazy with a gun."
