Deputies find shake-and-bake meth lab
BAYOU L'OURSE - Sheriff's deputies arrested a Morgan City man this week after they said they found a hidden meth lab in a bucket at the man's Assumption Parish home.
Sheriff Mike Waguespack said narcotics agents charged 49-year-old William Fontenot with creating a clandestine lab and possessing crystal meth, as well as resisting an officer when he was arrested on March 24.
The sheriff said agents searched Fontenot's Morgan City home late Tuesday night and found a several items hidden in a bucket which are used to make crystal meth using the "shake-and-bake" method.
Deputies booked Fontenot into the parish jail, where his bond was set at $61,000. He was still in jail Friday.
