Deputies: Dad in bar left 6-year-old in car
MONROE - A 35-year-old Monroe man has been booked with child desertion after deputies say he allegedly left a 6-year-old child in vehicle while he was in a bar.
Ouachita Parish deputies say Labarraon Shecoby Spivey was at the Suga Shack, when an officer arrived to investigate a call about a child sitting in the passenger seat of a parked car early Sunday morning. Several attempts were made to locate the owner of the vehicle, with announcements being made over the bar's speaker system.
After approximately 30 minutes, deputies say Spivey, who is the father of the child, came out of the bar.
The News-Star reports Spivey posted a $7,500 bond and was released.
It was unclear whether he has an attorney.
