Deputies: couple got high at jail
PLAQUEMINE - Two people seemed to have surrendered to authorities on drug charges since they're accused of getting high at the jail.
The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office said Candy Latiolais and Michael Duncan were arrested when deputies found Latiolais, who was visiting the jail, injecting narcotics into her arm in the bathroom of the jail. They said Duncan was in the parking lot preparing a similar situation for himself.
Latiolais faces drug possession and having drugs in a jail charges. Duncan is charged with drug possession and having drug paraphernalia.
"We may never know or understand the reason why these two offenders chose to come onto the jail premises and blatantly break the law," Sheriff Brett Stassi posted on Facebook.
