Deputies could ID body by Monday
DONALDSONVILLE- Sheriff's deputies could be able to identify a body, found near the Mississippi River, Monday.
The sheriff's office has said it could not positively ID the young man who was discovered Thursday because he was beaten so badly. The body was found behind the levee and near the river.
Sheriff Jeff Wiley said the body had been exposed to the elements for some time, making it more difficult to tell who the victim was.
But, Friday, Katrina Augusta said she believed it was her son who was found dead. Brandon Augusta, 15, vanished Sunday. She was shown pictures of clothing found on the body that match what her son was wearing when he disappeared. Click HERE to read more on her story and what she told WBRZ's Troy Gaulden.
The death has been ruled a homicide.
