Deputies concerned about suspect's close proximity to kids
KENTWOOD- A former band instructor at Kentwood High School bonded out of jail Monday as deputies said they are looking for evidence of any active molestation Kenneth Dillon may have been involved in.
Dillon, 64, was arrested Friday morning on child pornography charges.
ActionNews17.com reported Monday, Dillon had been fired. Shocked parents agreed with the decision.
"I wouldn't want that kind of person around my kids at all," parent Dwayne Ennis told WWL TV.
Deputies had been investigating Dillon for eight months before his arrest. Among the evidence they said they found inside his home was a video that showed a child, possibly as young as 8-years-old, having sex with an adult.
Because Dillon was a teacher and was close to kids, detectives said they are investigating if any other crimes may have been committed.
On the Kentwood High School website, Dillon said he enjoys working with students.
"I think that I am more excited about it than the students I teach," he posted in his biography. "I watched them grow and learn daily. I would not trade this experience for anything."
