Three men were arrested by the St. Helena Parish Sheriff's Office in connection with the slaying of a Greensburg man, who was found in a ditch Tuesday morning.

Deputies say a passing truck driver spotted the body of Roy Lee Patterson lying in a ditch in the Pine Grove area.

Deputies believe Patterson asked neighbors for a ride to the store, and they allegedly beat him to death on the way back.

Deputies arrested 18-year-old Ledale Dunn, 23-year-old Peter Lee and a 17-year-old.

All three were booked with second-degree murder.

The investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
