ALBANY - Sheriff’s deputies in Livingston Parish say they’ve arrested a man accused of robbing a dollar store in Albany on Monday night.
23-year-old Anthony Jackson, an Albany resident, was arrested Tuesday at a North Café Lane Road residence and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on three counts of simple robbery and two counts of possession of marijuana.
LPSO’s Sheriff Jason Ard said detectives received information that indicated a man entered the store, located at 25610 Hwy 442 in Albany, just before closing, and reached across the counter to take an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The sheriff said the suspect then ran from the store into the parking lot before getting into a red Nissan Altima and fleeing the scene.
