DENHAM SPRINGS - Police asked for the public's help in identifying a man wanted for stealing several thousand dollars worth of equipment from Denham Springs trucking company last weekend.

Police said the suspect went to the business on Rushing Road on Saturday, Feb. 28 and disabled a security camera as he was leaving the property. One of the attached images is a still of the man as he is unscrewing a cable that allowed the camera to operate.

The theft of $2,000 to $3,000 worth of metal ratchet-type straps used on trucks at the transportation company happened while the camera was inactive. The man returned the next day to reactivate the camera.

The suspect is described as being in his mid 50's, about 6 feet in height and weighing 200 pounds. He was captured on camera leaving the business in a 90's model white Ford single-cab pickup truck with a homemade tailgate.

Anyone with information on the man is urged to contact the Denham Springs Police Department at (225) 665-5106.
