A man is now under arrest for nearly two dozen burglaries in Livingston Parish.

Deputies say early Sunday morning a homeowner on Eagle Crest Drive north of Denham Springs, woke up after he heard a car alarm, and a saw a man breaking into cars in his driveway.

The homeowner got the suspect's license plate, and gave it authorities.

This led Deputies to 10498 White Road, in Denham Springs, where they found the suspect and arrested him.

Deputies searched the man's car and found several dozen stolen items including GPS units, cell phones, book sacks, gasoline cans, cologne bottles, and various other valuables.

They also found more stolen goods as well as a small amount of marijuana inside the man's home.

As Deputies were recovering the stolen property, the man slipped the hand cuffs off his wrists and escaped.

K-9 units from both the Walker Police Department and the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office responded to scene.

The man was located a short time later hiding in a building across the street.

18 year old Christopher Blake Turner was booked on multiple charges, including 21 counts of simple burglary.  His bond is set at $400,000.00

Deputies say more charges against Turner are likely.
