Dems outpace GOP in Fundraising
The Democratic National Committee says it raised $10.5 million in May compared to the $6.2 million Republicans raised in the same month. Part of the Democrats money is for a joint fund with President Obama's re-election campaign. The Obama campaign has set a goal of raising $60 million through the end of June. The President is expected to surpass the $750 million he raised in 2008. The Republican National Committee chairman says his efforts are focused on improving the party's balance sheet since inheriting a $24 million debt from former chair Michael Steele.
