Researchers are looking for north Louisiana residents to participate in a long-term study of how
dementia changes aging brains.
People from Shreveport and Alexandria already are participating in the study, but must go to the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge for yearly checkups.
Researchers say having more participants in the Shreveport area would let them offer yearly checkups there.
The study is expected to be among the 10 largest Alzheimer's disease and dementia studies in the United States by the end of the year.
