Delay hampered Investigation of Murdered Spy
A colleague of a British spy says a delay in reporting him missing hampered police inquiries into his death when the spy's body was found inside a sports bag. Gareth Williams worked for Britain's eavesdropping service called GCHQ but was attached to the MI6 overseas spy agency. His naked and decomposing body was found in his apartment under curious circumstances in August 2010 in London. His boss at MI6 acknowledged he didn't raise an alarm for a week when Williams failed to show up for work. During an inquest on Thursday, a second intelligence officer said she recognized the delay impacted the police investigation. Some of Williams relatives walked out in tears after the testimony.
