Delaware Air Force base on lockdown
DOVER, Del. - Dover Air Force Base in Delaware is on lockdown after a suspicious person was reported on the post.
Military officials say in a news release that the lockdown was ordered as a precautionary measure after the suspicious person was reported around 11 a.m. All personnel were told to shelter in place.
The base is home to fleets of cargo planes and operates one of the busiest air freight terminals in the U.S. military. It is also the arrival point for the remains of many troops who die overseas and has the largest military mortuary in the U.S.
