Defense rests in Franklin Dale Church trial
LIVINGSTON - Closing arguments began this morning in the trial of a former Livingston Parish fire chief accused of having sex with a child.
Prosecutors rested their case this morning after testimony from a computer forensics detective. Defense attorneys rested after calling one witness.
Franklin Dale Church faces nine counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile. Investigators accused him of texting and meeting with a 13-year-old girl.
Yesterday prosecutors showed video of the girl explaining her encounter with Church. She said he would tie her up with dog collars before having sex with her.
She also said she had sex with Church's 18-year-old son Adam, and Dale would record it.
News 2's Adrian Pittman will have more on the testimony presented tonight starting at 4 p.m.
