PORT ALLEN - A firestorm is brewing in West Baton Rouge Parish over fire protection money.
The debate is over fire sales tax revenues and how the monies are divided among the fire districts established by a 1990s law.
The mayors of Port Allen, Addis and Brusly have been discussing a solution to the problem; but have not agreed on a way to patch the two decade old law. If they don't agree on a fix, it would be up to the Louisiana Legislature to change the law.
