A deadly car crash in Terrebonne Parish has claimed the life of a Napoleonville man.

It happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday on LA 24 in Terrebonne Parish.

Authorities say 23 year-old Jonathan Durocher was driving northbound, when he ran off the road, hit a fence, an unoccupied van and the Blooming Orchid Florist building.

Investigators say Durocher had taken the car he was driving from an Exxon convenience store at the corner of LA 24 north and Hollywood Road.

The driver of that car, David Potter of Houma, stopped at the store and left the car running.

Investigators say Potter saw Durocher driving off.

Durocher died at the scene of the crash.

He was not wearing a seatbelt.
