BATON ROUGE- With Obamacare facing its first major deadline, people are racing to sign up before Monday.
It's to ensure health coverage starts on January 1.
To be covered by January 1, consumers have to be enrolled by December 23.
Leading up to the big day, Capital City Family Health Center has been flooded with people wanting to sign up.
Friday the agency was having trouble signing consumers up because the website was down, but that didn't stop people from stopping by.
Camille Turner was booked enrolling people into the program all week but she's concerned that website issues may turn some people around.
"There's a fear that people will give up and not go all the way through the end to get this coverage. Especially the ones who need coverage for January 1," said Camille Turner.
Consumers don't have to start paying on their premiums until January 10 but they will still be insured on the first day of 2014.
