BAKER – A daycare worker has been arrested and accused of murder in the October death of an infant under her care, according to authorities.
Baker Police arrested 22-year-old Ashley Reifer this evening after autopsy results showed that the child had died from traumatic brain injury, caused by being shaken.
Reifer was an employee at the Baker Busy Bee Learning Center, and according to investigators was the sole caretaker for the infant on Oct. 28 when it was found unresponsive.
Reifer was booked into the parish jail in suspicion of second-degree murder and cruelty to a juvenile.
