Changes are being considered for daycare workers and contractors at child care facilities. The workers and contractors are currently required to have a background check for every facility where they work.
State Rep. Joseph Lopinto says a state certification should be valid at all schools for a specific amount of time. He says he may introduce legislation backing the change.
Contractors are often hired to teach things like computer training or tumbling. If a contractor works with 10 different facilities, 10 different certifications would be needed under the current system.
