Davis injured in Pels' loss to Mavericks
DALLAS, TX - Monta Ellis scored 13 of his 26 points in the final 5 minutes and the Dallas Mavericks outlasted the New Orleans Pelicans 112-107 on Wednesday night.
New Orleans had a chance to tie the game in the final 6 seconds, but Ryan Anderson's 3-point attempt bounced off the rim. Dallas' Richard Jefferson grabbed the rebound, was fouled and made both free throws to seal the win.
Dirk Nowitzki, Chandler Parsons and Devin Harris scored 20 points each for Dallas. The Mavericks improved to 10-1 this season when Nowitzki scores at least 20 points. Ellis was coming off a 2-point game at Memphis on Tuesday, his lowest output since he was a rookie in 2006.
Anthony Davis scored 31 points and added 11 rebounds before limping off the court in the fourth quarter for the Pelicans, and Jrue Holiday added a season-high 30 points and 10 assists.
