Davis, Council earn basketball honors

BATON ROUGE - Josh Davis of Tulane and Keiva Council of Loyola earned the first state basketball player honors for their play in the month of November by a panel of Louisiana Sports Writers Association members.

The selection was for all play in the month of November through this past Sunday night. Beginning next week, the selections will be announced by the LSWA for top men's and women's players of the week.

Davis has guided the Tulane men to the program's best start (7-0) since the 1991-92 season, while Council early on it's the nation's top scorer in NAIA women's basketball for Loyola, including a 48-point effort against Northwestern State.
