Date set for school security task force meeting
BATON ROUGE- State leaders will take a good, hard look at the safety of kids while they're at school.
Thursday, lawmakers set a date for a special meeting to talk about school security.
A homeland security committee will gather on January 9, 2013. It's members from the Louisiana House of Representatives.
The group will look at policies and procedures and was set-up after the school shooting in Connecticut where 20 kids were shot dead.
Currently, schools are required to have an emergency action plan. The group will talk about what more could be done to ensure safety.
