DA's office talks about guns in schools
Tonight at 6pm on News 2, we talk with District Attorney Hillar Moore about the reaction from parents to recent cases involving guns in our schools, and what can be done to hold other parents accountable.
DA Moore tells me while there are no laws on the books that could hold parents responsible for their students bringing guns to school, he would be in favor of legislation that could change that. He says any law that could make schools a safer environment would only benefit Louisiana and Baton Rouge.
Since the beginning of the school year at least 10 guns have been found on Baton Rouge school campuses and at least 8 of those guns were brought by students.
