Darrow woman sought for retirement account theft
GONZALES - Police asked for the public's on Tuesday afternoon in locating a woman accused of stealing nearly $10,000 from a former roommate's retirement account over the course of two years.
Detectives said Denise Scott Gordon, 43, used the social security number and date of birth of her husband's former co-worker to obtain about $9,570.90 from the victim's retirement account. She did this on two separate occasions in 2013 and once in 2014, according to investigators. Detectives with Gonzales PD said Gordon and her husband formerly lived with the victim.
Gordon was able to remove the money from the victim's retirement account and had the checks sent to a P.O. Box in her name, according to police. Gordon is wanted for felony theft, forgery and identity theft along with other unrelated arrest warrants from Gonzales PD for identity theft. She is also sought by Probation and Parole for felony theft.
The accused woman's last known address was 3342 Jackson Street in Darrow.
