Secretary of State Jay Dardenne's campaign is holding a $5,000-per-plate fundraising luncheon in New Orleans today.
The primary election to fill the lieutenant governor's seat will be held Oct. 2, with a runoff, if needed, on Nov. 2.
The incumbent is Mitch Landrieu, who is leaving the post after being elected mayor of New Orleans.
St. Tammany Parish President Kevin Davis and state party chairman Roger Villere, both Republicans, have also announced plans to run as well.
