Damage left behind by overnight storm
BATON ROUGE - Clean up is underway across the Baton Rouge area after heavy wind and rain moved through early Monday morning.
The roof of an apartment building off Florida Blvd. was ripped off and scattered into the streets.
Parts of the area are without power as lines are down and poles are leaning.
LA DOTD reports eastbound Florida Blvd. between Sherwood Forest and Little John Drive will be closed while workers repair power lines and remove debris. The service road on the south side of Florida Blvd. will also remain closed in both directions.
One lane on Florida Blvd. will remain open at all times in the eastbound direction.
Quarter-sized hail was also reported in the Sherwood Forest and Central areas Sunday night.
