PRAIREVILLE - The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit and run involving a bicyclist.

It happened Thursday morning around 6:30 in front of The Oak Grove Market on Hwy. 42.

26-year-old Lance Jasper was hit in the shoulder by the mirror of a 2011 White Ford F-150 Lariat.

A piece of the passenger's side mirror was found at the scene and later helped to identify the truck.

"It hurt. I was able to continue to riding into the market. I was able to watch the guy keep moving on," said Jasper.

This is believed to be the second hit and run this week in Ascension Parish involving a bicyclist. The other happened on Hwy. 934 east of Hwy. 44.

Jasper hopes the driver is caught so this won't happen to someone else.

"Next time stop. Come back. I may have been okay this time, doesn't mean I'll be okay next time."
