Crooks use car in ATM smash and grab
HAMMOND- Brazen crooks used a vehicle to back into the front of the Office of Motor Vehicles and infamously take the store's ATM.
Like in similar cases, the crooks used the vehicle to break the machine free from floor mounts before fleeing away with the ATM and the cash inside.
The heist happened sometime between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Tuesday. Leftover was a gaping hole in the glass facade and mangled metal and other evidence troopers said they will process, hoping to gain clues.
Nothing else was taken in the burglary.
State Police believe a white or light colored sedan was used. It will likely have damage to the rear fender and quarter panel.
