Crooks steal A/C unit from church
VENTRESS - Thieves have been making their way through parts of Pointe Coupee parish, stealing air conditioning units.
According to the Pointe Coupee Sheriff's Office, there have been two reported incidents this year involving stolen units from churches in the Area.
The most recent one was reported Friday evening at the Greater St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church on Island Road.
"Of course we miss our air conditioning... it's so sad," said Juanita Harris, the church member who discovered the unit was missing.
Authorities have not released any information on possible suspects yet.
