Crews respond to fire at Baton Rouge River Center
BATON ROUGE - Crews were called to the Raising Cane's River Center in downtown Baton Rouge due to a fire Sunday night.
The fire was reported in the northeast corner of the ballroom portion of the building just before 8:30 p.m. Sunday. According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, the fire originated in an elevator shaft.
The fire was contained to the elevator shaft, which sustained significant damage. Other parts of the building did receive some smoke, according to BRFD.
The fire was extinguished around 9 p.m.
