BATON ROUGE - HazMat crews responded Friday to a reported sulfur dioxide leak at the Rhodia chemicals plant on Airline Hwy.
Investigators quickly downgraded their response to a "level 1", meaning there was no impact offsite.
Crews planned to set-up air monitoring devices in the area around the plant as a precaution.
No evacuations or road closures have occurred at this time.
