Crash, attack kill 3 NATO troops in Afghanistan
KABUL, Afghanistan - As Americans observe Memorial Day, three NATO service members have been killed in Afghanistan.
The U.S.-led coalition says a helicopter crash killed two service members in the eastern part of the country, while a third died in an insurgent attack in the south.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, but officials say there doesn't appear to have been any enemy activity in the area at the time.
A second coalition aircraft crashed today in eastern Afghanistan. No fatalities were reported.
Elsewhere in Afghanistan today, gunmen killed a member of the community council in the southern Helmand province. And a roadside bomb killed seven people in the northeastern part of the country.
