SLIDELL - A Covington man has died in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 190 in St. Tammany Parish.

State police say the victim of Saturday's accident has been identified as 28-year-old Paul Becnel Jr.

State police say Becnel was traveling east on U.S. 190 when his car ran off the road, struck a utility pole and flipped over coming to rest on its roof.

Becnel was pronounced dead on the scene.

On Friday night, state police say 39-year-old Renee Green of New Iberia was walking south on Louisiana Highway 675 when she was struck by a vehicle and killed. Authorities the vehicle left the scene of the accident.

Green was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iberia Parish coroner.
