Covington man arrested for second DWI
GARDEN CITY, La. - Authorities in St. Mary Parish say a Covington man faces second offense DWI charges, after a deputy found him intoxicated in his vehicle.
Sheriff Mark Hebert says the deputy spotted 56-year-old James Bourgeois sitting in a parking lot along Hwy. 182 just after midnight Friday.
After confronting Bourgeois, officials say he smelled alcohol on his breath and inside the vehicle.
Bourgeois later failed a breath test, registering a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.
He's currently being held inside St. Mary Parish Jail without bond.
