Prarieville- A man and woman from out of state, claiming to be selling magazines door-to-door are under arrest, after stealing from a potential customer in Ascension Parish.

Deputies say Damina Beavers dropped off Nicholas Osgan at a home on Bluff Road in Prarieville, when Osgan knocked on the door and was allowed into the home.

One of the residents said Osgan sold a $42 magazine subscription and was caught taking items out of the refrigerator.

Deputies say the resident demanded the $42 dollars back and noticed Osgan had stolen an I-Phone.

Osgan was picked up by Beavers and the two drove away, but were followed by the resident who contacted the Sheriff's Office.

When caught and questioned, Beavers admitted that she knew Osgan had stolen an I-Phone and that he had tossed it in some bushes near the home.

Beavers also said that they intended to return later and get the I-Phone.

Deputies went to the location where the phone was reported to have been stashed and it was found.

Osgan from Wisconsin, and Beavers from Illinois, were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on Simple Burglary charges.

Anyone who may have been a victim of Beavers and Osgan are urged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office.
