Country music legend Ray Price dies at 87
MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas - Country singing legend Ray Price has died, according to a family spokesperson. He was 87.
The singer, songwriter and guitar player suffered from pancreatic cancer, according to family friend Billy Mack Jr.
Price was one of the most influential figures in country music in the 1960's and 70's, and was one of the last living connections to Hank Williams.
He was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1996, and still toured and recorded music into his 80's.
