Councilwoman wants public input in police chief search
An East Baton Rouge Parish councilwoman is asking for the mayor and administrators to get the public involved in picking a new police chief.
Denise Marcelle wants a public advisory committee to weigh in on candidates for the job.
"...Not trying to do anything but give the citizens of Baton Rouge, who have been crying out so much, especially here lately, about the crime in Baton Rouge, to participate in that process," said Marcelle.
Chief Jeff Leduff's last day on the job is Dec. 31.
